He served as Secretary of Finance and Interior under President Manuel Quezon.     In 1948, Quirino took over as president after the death of President Roxas. As president, he implemented programs for land reform and fought against communism. He was re-elected as president in 1949. Quirino's presidency was marked by significant events, including the Hukbalahap rebellion and the country's post-war reconstruction efforts. Despite challenges, he remained committed to improving the lives of Filipinos.

    Quirino is known for his achievements for the Philippines. One of these is the establishment of the Social Security System in 1954, which provided assistance to workers.
